W. KIRK BOUGHNER

W. Kirk Boughner, 88, of St. Clairsville, Ohio passed away July 15, 2020 at Wheeling Hospital, after a brief illness.  Born October 21, 1931 in Belmont, Ohio, he was the son of the late Cecil and Lillie (Kirk) Boughner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nell Boughner; daughter, Joanna Boughner; grandson, Kyle Boughner; and sisters, Janet Gray, Theda Tacosik, and Janie Schrum.

Kirk leaves a trail of beautiful memories to those who survive; his wife, Lynne Boughner of St. Clairsville; daughters, Vicki Loveday, Becky Boughner both of Belmont; sons, W. Kent Boughner of St. Clairsville, Chris (Lori) Milligan of Doylestown; grandchildren Matthew Loveday, Alitza Grear, Melissa Boughner, Allison and Hayden Milligan; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Leia Grear; countless nieces, nephews, and cousins; other extended family members, Stacy Hoff, Karin Barwick, Sheila Crosby, Joyce Griffin; and his faithful companion who gave him love and comfort, his dog, Holly.

A multi-faceted person, Kirk worked for the B&O Railroad, was Belmont Fire Chief, worked for Kelly Kemp Funeral Home, when it provided ambulance services, also assisting with many funeral home duties and responsibilities, and was a member of the Blue Lodge Scottish Rite of the Gestures.   He was the owner/operator of Boswell Monuments Company for many years until his retirement and then together, with his wife Lynn, managed Rock of Ages Boswell Monuments in Wheeling, proudly serving Ohio Valley families in their time of need.  A gentleman and truly genuine person, Kirk met and touched the lives of many throughout his journey.  A longtime member and Past Potentate of Osiris Temple A.A.O.N.M.S., Kirk received this honor for his outstanding work with Shriners Hospital for Children, as a leader and spokesperson assisting over 50 children, as well as overseeing that all children receive the specialized care needed, to lead fuller and more productive lives.

Kirk's family will receive guests on Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, East Richland Evangelical Friends Church, 67885 Friends Church Road, St. Clairsville, where a Memorial Service, celebrating his legacy, will begin at 2:00 pm.  Interment will take place at Belmont Cemetery.
