RICHARD E. “CAT” WILCOX

Richard “Cat” Wilcox, 77, of Barnesville, Ohio, passed away at his home on September 17, 2020, surrounded by his family.  He was born in Zanesville on May 22, 1943 to the late Paul R. and Laura Murray Wilcox.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Kaye Wilcox; nephew, Dusty Carpenter; niece, Miranda Himes; and brothers-in-law, Jim Carpenter and John Hutchison.

Richard served two years in the United States Army and retired from AEP, Columbia Center, Ohio in 2000, as a supervisor.  He enjoyed farming, fishing, and wood working.

Richard is survived by his wife of 41 years, Pat Hall Wilcox; children, Sarah Wilcox of Kerrville, Texas, Rachal Wilcox of Barnesville, Katey (Bob) Livingston of St. Clairsville, Mandy (Wes) Brown of Barnesville, and Rusty Wilcox of Moundsville, West Virginia; grandchildren, Brandon (Jenna) Brown, Kara Brown, and Alli Wilcox all of Barnesville; sisters-in-law, Sue Carpenter, Judy Hutchison, and Mary Hall all of Barnesville; nephews, Mark (Roxanne) Carpenter of Summersville, West Virginia and Dave (Cindy) Carpenter of Lore City; nieces, Fran (Jason) Steed and Jae (Rick) Sykes all of Barnesville; 7 great-nephews; and 1 great-niece.

Visiting hours will be 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2020, Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville.  In keeping with Richard’s wishes, there will be no service and interment will take place privately, at the convenience of his family.

The family extends our gratitude to Jennifer Doty, R.N. and Debi Lawson of Hospice of Guernsey, for their tender care and support of Richard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Guernsey, 9711 E. Pike Road, Cambridge, Ohio 43725.
