RAY HENRY “POPPY” THOMAS
Ray Henry “Poppy” Thomas, 63, of Quaker City, Ohio, passed away Sunday morning, February 7, 2021, at his home. Peacefully and with his family by his side, his journey with cancer ended.
Born in Alliance, Ohio on April 21, 1957, he was one of eight children born to the late Clifford and Ruby (Huff) Thomas.
Ray will lovingly be remember by his wife of 27 years, Suzi (Clark) Thomas of Quaker City; children, Ray (Dawn) Thomas, Lee (Jessica) Thomas all of Wainwright, Jim (Elizabeth) Thomas of Dennison and Jody Thomas of Cambridge; step-children, Kasey (Chris) Mason of Hampton, Virginia, and Kari Ickes of Cumberland, Maryland; siblings, Roy (Sharon) Thomas of Cambridge, Clifford “Ike” Thomas and Clarence “Pete” Thomas both of Batesville, Pat Toohey of Barnesville, Terry (Kathy) Thomas of Batesville, Tony (Michelle) Thomas of Quaker City, and Jay (Diane) Thomas of Lore City; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He spent most of his time farming and enjoyed raising ducks and chickens. He was an avid coon hunter prior to his disability in 1998. Ray enjoyed cat fishing and faithfully participated in catfish tournaments at the Batesville Sportsman Club. Devoted to his family, he enjoyed spending time with them.
In keeping with Ray’s wishes, private family visitation and a private Graveside Service will take place.
