Paulette Sharon (Ackley) Kinney

Paulette Sharon Kinney, 74, passed away on May 8, 2020 at 11:20 am in Woodsfield at the Arbors nursing home. She was born on October 26, 1945 to the late Warren and Bernice Ackley. She was the wife of Brian Kinney. They shared 22 years of marriage together.

Born in Syracuse New York, she later moved to Florida where she grew up, graduating from Edgewater High School in 1962. After working for the majority of her life, she was a homemaker for the last 22 years in Barnesville, Ohio.

Paulette was a wonderful mother and loved her children unconditionally.  She was mostly known for her huge heart and for always embracing her love for all who ever needed her. She sacrificed her own well-being at times, to make sure everyone else was taken care of in their time of need. Paulette had a great sense of humor and was free spirited. Some would even say she didn’t hold back when it came to letting you know how she felt. Through it all, she was a ray of sunshine for many.

The greatest time in her life was when she lived on Dinwiddie Lampton, Jr.’s farm in Louisville, Kentucky, as his care taker. He would always tell her "whip and kick and don't give up, you've got an eternity to rest." That’s exactly what she did each and every day of her life. She didn’t have the easiest life, losing many loved ones along the way.  Despite life’s challenges, Paulette made the most of her time here, with all of us and we will be forever grateful for that. We miss you already, Mom!

Paulette is survived by her husband, Brian Kinney; sister, Rosemary Chitty, and brother, Warren Ackley; children Joseph Reed, Michele Gill and husband Vikram, and Rodney Reed; 13 grandchildren, Kyle Reed, Isabel Reed, Addyson Reed, Nathan Reed, Jacelyn Sexton, Jalie Sexton, Joey Reed, Aasha Gill, Ariya Gill, Bently Ackley, Ellie Ackley, Abigail Ackley, and Evelyn Ackley; she also raised her late brother’s children, Michael Ackley and wife Sara, and Lauren Ackley and all will miss her dearly.

Paulette was preceded by her parents; her first husband, Rodney Reed; first born, Stanley Ackley; grandson, Blake Reed; and siblings, Sandra Ackley, Michael Ackley, and David Ackley.

Respectfully, due to the COVID-19 and gathering limitations, there will be no visitation or service at this time.  A celebration of Paulette's life will take place at a later date.
