JUDY I. GARTEN

Judy I. Garten, 64, of Barnesville, Ohio, has now joined her husband, Michael, as she entered her eternal home on January 31, 2020.  The late Park and Elsie Dale Wood welcomed her lovingly into their family, August 25, 1955.

In addition to her husband, Michael and her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son and grandson, Jamie Sampson. 

Gone, but not forgotten, Judy will forever remain in the hearts of those who survive; daughters, Melissa (John) Sampson of Barnesville, Kris (Rob) Miller of Bethesda; grandchildren, Rachael Dunn, Rebecca Yates, Rona Briggs, Brinna Sampson, Chelsie Sampson, and Desiree Schwaben;  great-grandchildren, Jackson Miller and Samuel Briggs, Jr.; sister, Luretta Warrick of St. Clairsville.

She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Barnesville Women’s league. Judy chose and shared her unconditional love with her family and embraced the love they returned to her.  She knew this was the greatest gift she could give to her family.  Being a grandma was magical and the greatest joy in her life. She was proud and loved being the wife of a coal miner.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, February 7, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville, where the service for Judy will be conducted, Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 11:00 am.  Pastor Murray Stafford will officiate.  Interment will follow at Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville.
