James Clark (Gropp) McKeeta, 57 of Lashley Rd., Shadyside passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023. He was born July 1, 1965, the son of the late David L. and Margaret M. (McKeeta) Gropp in McKees Rocks, PA.
James was a graduate of Black Hawk High School and University of Pittsburgh, a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity, and the Mt. Zion Methodist Church. He was retired from the CONSOL Coal Company and as a Federal Mine Inspector.
Jim finally found the love of his life after many years of bachelorhood. He and JoEllen fell in love and were living and loving life together. He was an avid hunter and had just finished and moved into their dream house, their log home.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife; JoEllen McKeeta, son; Nathan Malichky, stepchildren: Jacquelynn (Josh) Winters, Wesley (Anessa) Rataiczak, Bryson (Alicia) Rataiczak, Luke and Joel Rataiczak, four step grandchildren, siblings; John C. (Cheryl) Gropp, Jean (Michael) Puglia, cousin; Nancy (Duke) Kavinsky, lifelong friend; Phil Hahn and many other close friends as well as several nieces and nephews complete his family.
Family will receive friends on Monday, January 30, 2023, from 5-7pm at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside. Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at 10 am at the funeral home with Rev. Roger Tipton officiating, burial to follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1685 National Rd., Wheeling, 26003.
