Homer Luyster Obituary

HOMER W. LUYSTER

In the early morning of February 24, 2021, Homer Luyster, after a full and accomplished life, was re-united with his wife, Martha.

Born in Somerton, Ohio February 15, 1927, he was the son of the late Charles and Ethel (Neptune) Luyster and one of six children gracing the Luyster family. A longtime resident of Barnesvillle, Homer was the owner and operator of K&J Machine.

Serving his county in the United States Army during World War II, he was a member of the Barnesville V.F.W. and the American Legion. Nothing brought Homer more peace and contentment in life than simply being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Being a small businessman, he fulfilled his vision with determination, dedication, honesty, and leaving an impact on those he served.

Together with his loving wife and parents, Homer was also preceded in death by his daughters, Barbara Luyster Borkowski and Connie (Michael) Carpenter; sons, Homer (Brenda) Luyster and Michael (Brenda) Luyster; siblings, Harrison (Grace) Luyster, Jim (Maxine) Luyster, Hazel (Robert) Mann, Stanley (Grace) Luyster, and Bertha Ray Damon

Leaving a trail of unforgettable memories are those who survive; daughters, Sharon (Randall) Lucas of Barnesville, Vickie (Ray) Oliver of White City, Kansas; son, Kevin (Jodi) Luyster of Barnesville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and all whose lives he touched throughout his journey.
