Edna Margaret Thompson (born October 28, 1942 ~ died October 30, 2020)

On the morning of October 30, 2020 Edna Margaret Thompson passed away unexpectedly in her home in Loomis, Ohio. Born October 28, 1942 in Loomis, Ohio to Joseph and Edna (Arnett) Shirbish. Edna was a proud and beloved coal miner’s daughter to her parents and a treasured sister to her 12 siblings.  She attended Belmont School and High School until her senior year, when she was part of the inaugural class of Union Local High School.  All throughout school at Belmont and Union Local Edna cultivated friends that lasted her a lifetime.

Edna married Bernie Thompson in 1967.  She is survived by their children; Maxine Ann, (David) Jurovcik, Shawn Matthew (Deanna) Thompson, Shane Michael (Amber), Joseph Christopher (Jessica) and Jessie Nicole (JR) Giesey.  She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, and great grandkids.

Her family is devastated at the loss of their beloved matriarch; Edna was the heart of the family. The family does take comfort in the peace that she is now with the Lord along with her dearly beloved husband, her departed brothers and sisters, and her prized dog, ‘Beanie’. Edna will live on in the hearts of her children and grandchildren and all who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed.

Edna was a lifelong member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church (309 Oak Street Bethesda, Ohio 43719), where funeral services will be held. Viewing for family and friends starts at 2:00 pm until services begin at 6:00 pm, Monday, November 2, 2020.
