DARRIN KEITH SHEPHERD

Darrin Keith Shepherd, 44, of Bethesda, Ohio, passed away February 4, 2020.  Born May 13, 1975 in Wheeling, West Virginia, he was the son of Dave and Linda Kothera Shepherd.

Preceding Darrin in death was his maternal grandfather, Charles Kothera and his paternal grandparents, Keith and Ruth Shepherd.

Darrin’s loss is immeasurable, but so is the love he leaves behind to those who survive; his wife of 23 years, Kristen Shepherd of Bethesda; daughters, Hannah Shepherd and fiancée, Jonathan Shrieve and Abigail Shepherd all of Bethesda; son, Brandon Shepherd of Bethesda; parents, Linda and Dave “Duck” Shepherd of Bethesda; sisters, Karen Jewell (Chris Violet), Lydia (Tom) Rutter all of St. Clairsville; maternal grandmother, Winifred Kothera of Barnesville; many nieces and nephews; and his 2 special Yorkies, Missy and Mya.

Darrin was known to most as “Whistle”.  He loved to ride dirt bikes, his Harley and fishing. He was like a “second dad” to many of the kids that came to his home. Darrin was a devoted family man.  His wife and children were the most important thing in his life and nothing brought him more peace and contentment than simply being a good husband and father.  His first grandchild will arrive in July and Darrin’s memory will be a radiant reflection in the eyes of his grandchild.

Family will receive guests on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm, Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, 322 N. Main Street, Bethesda, where the service will follow at 6:00 pm.  Pastor Richard Cox will officiate. In honoring Darrin’s wishes, interment will take place privately, at a later date.
