WILLIAM W. STEPHENS
William W. Stephens, 77, of Barnesville, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on May 22, 2019, after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born on March 16, 1942 in Boston, Ohio.
William is now together with those who preceded him in death; mother, Glenda Stephens-Betts; step-father, Gail Betts; and sister, Rose Fenstamaker.
William’s memory will forever be cherished by those who survive; his wife of 55 years, Jean Stephens; daughters, Lori (Robert) Farrabee of Barnesville, Lisa Stephens of Woodsfield; grandchildren, Tia (Jayme) Detling, Taylor (Josh) Baker, Bryce Farrabee, Brittany (Ryan) Baker, Nicole Gallagher; great-grandchildren, Vada and Maely Detling, Landon Swegard, and a little one on the way. Also surviving are William’s brothers and sisters, Lonnie (Mary) Betts, Rick (Kendra) Betts, Janie (Bob) Saffell, Barb Workman, Judy (Jerry) Robb; and several nieces and nephews.
He was retired from Ohio Valley Coal, Number 6 Mine in Powhatan after 28 years of service. He attended First Baptist Church of Barnesville and his faith set him apart from most. Those whose lives he touched will always be grateful for each and every day spent together.
Family and friends will welcome guests for visitation, Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 11:00 am until the time of service, beginning at 1:00 pm, Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Pastor Rodney West officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Cemetery, in Barnesville.
