Shirley M. Jozwiak

Shirley M. Jozwiak, 79, of Barnesville, Ohio, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Emerald Pointe.  Born November 17, 1939 in Bethesda, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Wayne and Alice Turner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Jozwiak and sisters, Ester Fogle and Dorothy West.

Shirley’s memory will forever be cherished by those who survive; son, Jeff (Heidi) Thompson of Mesa, Arizona; daughter, Lisa (Kevin) Kavanagh of Columbus; son, Terry (Alana) Thompson of Prescott, Arizona; grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Amanda, Deja, Cheyenne, Bailey, Lauren, and Garrett; great-grandchildren, Harlow and Weston; sisters, Susan Witsberger of Bethesda, and Martha Wade of Barnesville.

Shirley spread goodness every day, everywhere and was an example to others of a truly good human being.  She was a published poet, having over 25 original poems in print, and the emotions she put into words illuminated the human heart.  Shirley enjoyed many kinds of music, and especially loved to play mandolin and sing bluegrass in the “Dick and Shirley Duo”.  She was also very artistic with her use of paints and playing with what one color would do to another. She was a successful nail technician through her business in Arizona, Nails by Shirley and enjoyed hair styling.

Visitation will take place, Sunday, June 2, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and Monday, June 3, 2019 from 10:00 am until the time of service, which will begin at 11:00 am, Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, 322 N. Main Street, Bethesda. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda.
